James the Red Engine

James is a medium sized engine on the North- Western Railways bearing the number 5. He boasts of a fine scarlet coat and brass dome with a matching tender. This smart tank engine is a Mixed traffic engine and can pull both freight cars and passenger carriages, though he haughtily thinks its beneath him to carry trucks! James can be rather arrogant and boastful at times thinking of himself as a 'really splendid engine.' He looks down upon engines which do the lowly tasks that he is too noble to take on. But his rather grandiose plans land him into trouble more often than not. To give him credit, he is quick to apologize if chastised and proves himself as a very useful toy train too. James is truly vain but also lots of fun!
