Dennis is a diesel engine characterized by his laziness. Dennis is infamous for being a shirker and for forever making excuses to avoid work . Dennis is painted light grey with red buffers and sports the number 11001. He is a small engine who can make tall excuses. Dennis can go to any length just to avoid a decent day's work. Trust him to use any and every opportunity in his favor so that he can rest. Thomas and friends are annoyed by Dennis' attitude as they are forced to shoulder Dennis' work in addition to their own.
